NEWLY ANNOUNCED: Issue 13: Architect! This looks to be a great issue with create-your-own missions, new powersets, Day Jobs, and other goodies to keep us coming back!
The Cliffs Notes:
Architect Missions: Create missions with your own baddies, objectives, and bosses, even choose the snappy banter! Using a mechanism similar to the Character Creator, this feature also will allow the player to share this newly created mission with the rest of the community, and recieve feedback on it.
New Powersets:
- Melee-oriented heroes and villains (with the exception of Stalkers) get access to the Shields defensive set, allowing the character to use a physical shield to protect him/herself and his/her allies.
- Masterminds and Corrupters gain access to the Pain Domination set, a sort of anti-Empathy. Manipulate and twist your target's pain and emotions to your own devious ends.
Day Jobs: In a way very similar to having a Secret Identity, wherever your character logs out will become their Day Job (what they do when you are offline). Whether it be in a hospital, a police station, or the University, your character will get bonuses related to these jobs according to the amount of time spent working there. These bonuses can include increased influence gain or regeneration bonuses, among many other things.
There will also be new Cimemora missions, more costume sets, purchasable expansion packs, and a Patron Power Respec for high-level Villains. There will also be a Merit Rewards system which will allow you to trade Merits for costume parts, temporary powers, etc. This is less of a new thing than merely bringing the already-in-place system of Vanguard Merits to the rest of the CoH world.
