1. What got you hooked on Gameamp?
I bought CoH back in December of 2004. I started getting hooked on Badges shortly after I started playing the game. I did a google search on CoH and Badges and came up with quite a few hits. The first couple hits were for this site, Gameamp.com. So I clicked, got some info and read some posts. I realized how cool and down to earth the staffers and members were and decided that this was the place I wanted to hang my spandex.
2. Where did your Gameamp member name come from?
Nothing too very exciting. It's a name I've used online for many years. It's just my first name, Ron, plus my last initial, J, plus the last two digits of the year I was born, 73.
3. How long have you been a member on Gameamp?
Roughly 542,800 minutes. (There's 525,600 minutes in a year)
4. Are there any other websites you spend time at?
Periodically I'll go to the main boards for CoH/CoV to check out the latest news and information. I sometimes participate in small conversations there in the Triumph forum, the Tech forum and the Training Room forum. I also go to http://www.lordsofpain.net once in a while for Wrestling information. Since moving to Florida back in August, I find myself going to http://www.weather.com and laughing at how cold it is back in Rhode Island. That's about it, though.
5. How much time a week to do you spend on Gameamp?
Not as much as I'd like to. Probably about 10-12 hours, give or take a few hours here and there.
6. What is your favorite thing to submit for credit on the site?
I like submitting screenies an awful lot, but because of my limited ingame time lately, I haven't been able to get a lot of neat ones recently.
7. What is your favorite thing about being Site Manager?
UNQUESTIONABLE POWER!!! *ahem* I mean, I like to devote my free time to helping out fellow members of the gaming community. Plus, the bennies are great. There's a great 401k program where Nogame will match 200% of what I contribute out of my paychecks up to 50% of my gameamp pay! It's awesome!
8. In one word, describe your leadership style.
Floccinaucinihilipilification.
9. What is it like to have all that power?!
All that power? There are still others with more, therefore, I'm not satisfied. To answer the question...Dissatisfying. Nogame...watch your back.
10. How did you feel when you were first asked to become Site Manager?
Confused. I didn't really understand why.
11. Why did you say yes?
Jeni offered me cookies and a big stuffed teddy bear. Honestly though, because I thought I could help out, because I'm really good at being bossy.
12. If you could make any changes you wanted to the site, what would they be?
Allowing executions instead of just bannings for spammers.
13. How much time do you spend in game working on the site?
No where near enough.
14. How much time do you spend in game in a week?
12 hours if I'm EXTREMELY lucky. Lately with a new job and weird hours, I'll sometimes get an hour or two in on work days.
15. What is your gaming history (computer, console, ect)?
Gaming history...flash back to the late 70s...Pong. Then in the early 80s, I had an Intellivision, then a Nintendo (original front loader), Gameboy, Super Nintendo, Genesis, PC games, Playstation, Playstation 2, Nintendo 64, more PC Games. Also in there, I was doing paper and dice role playing games, AD&D, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, West End Games Star Wars, Traveler, Marvel Superheroes (old school percentile system), DC Heroes (old school really weird system), various others.
16. What is your all time favorite game? (and why?)
I probably SHOULD say City of Villains, but that wouldn't be honest. The game I most enjoyed playing was Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Playstation.
17. How long have you been addicted to City of Villains?
Roughly 6,048,000 seconds. (A little over 2 months)
18. What is your favorite thing about CoV?
That's a really hard question to answer. There are so many things about City of Villains that I enjoy. The scenery, the community, the playstyle, the simplicity of the gameplay. If I had to choose just one thing, I would have to say, the extremely rich and interactive universe.
19. Are you addicted to any other games right now?
Not at all. I'm too busy with work.
20. Do you do anything other than play games and work on Gameamp? (if yes what?)
I work at a sports bar/restaurant in the Airport bartending. I also enjoying singing Karaoke, Bowling, spending time with my non-computer-game-playing boyfriend (before you ask, yes), drinking, watching Buffy reruns on DVD and lots of other things that I never have time for. :)
21. What country are you in?
The Confederated States of America...err...I mean, the United States of America! :)
22. How many years have you been gracing the planet?
32.8027397260...roughly. (April 4th, 1973)
23. Are there any other occupants in your home that try to get your attention off the computer?
I'm currently living with my parents until I buy the house from them, although they seldom bother my. The boyfriend doesn't LIVE here, but he does like to peel me away from the computer when he can.
24. What is your all time favorite character in any game on any platform? (why?)
Nei from Phantasy Star 2 for the old Sega Master System. I can't really say why. When I read the question, it was just the first answer that popped into my head. She also had a really cool back story.
25. What is your favorite thing to do in the world?
This is a family site, so I'll say "sleep" and leave it at that.
26. Are you an alt-aholic or do you focus on one main character?
I'm a recovering alt-o-holic. My CoH is littered with alts, but CoV only has a couple characters that I play. Ruby Widow (L35, very close to L36) and Aurora Australis (L16).
27. What question would you ask in this interview if you were giving it? (And yes, what is the answer?)
Boxers or Briefs? Answer, Boxer Briefs.
