A Guide to Rad/Thermal Rad Corruptors
Now, I like these villain AT’s, they give a much more refreshing change of pace than the heroes. Besides the Brute (reverse damage dealing Tank) and the Stalker (Scrapper with criticals if you hit, always at the start of a battle), all the other AT’s are completely original. The Corruptor seems to have a Blaster's primaries as its own (adding the Defender’s Radiation and Dark Blast sets) with a Defender’s primaries as its secondaries. Seems to be great to me. The one thing that I didn’t like was that there seemed like no empathy-type power set. Until I found “Thermal Radiation” which is saying “I use the power of heat to do stuff” The only thing missing is the take pain power from empathy, all other powers seem to be in their entirety, and it comes with a few enemy de-buffs to boot. I also chose Radiation as a primary, because I picked at random. With out further to-do, I give you, Zin’s Guide to Radiation/Thermal Radiation Corruptors
Lvl 1: The only choice you have is between the stronger attack, and a weaker one. Take the strong one, and for Warmth, 3 heals, and 3 recharges
Lvl 2: Fire Shield, Your build WILL be like a pure empath until higher levels, if you don’t like it, then stop now. Masterminds can be your Blaster type-ness for now. Later you may indulge in it, but for now, it is not time. Put three Damage Resists in it.
Lvl 3: The first two slots. To a new player, they don’t seem like much, but that’s because a new player has no idea what SO’s are (the most powerful enhancements, next to HO’s, but that will be a subject for a later time, not in this guide, ask someone else.). To start, begin by putting both on Warmth.
Lvl 4: Cauterize, your first non AoE heal, and it does quite a bit too. Take it and be ready to soon 4 slot it 3 Heals, and one Recharge
Lvl 5: Again two slots, both on Warmth
Lvl 6: HOORAY! By getting to lvl 6, you have unlocked Power Pools, some of the most useful powers in the game reside here (Stamina, any travel power) but then there is the not as readily useful, but still a sometimes powers. My point is, no power has NO use, some are best with other AT’s and some are useless to AT’s. But there are two Power Pools, and two to four powers that everyone agrees on that are infinitely useful, even after the heroes ED of what I believe was issue 6 (if not then let me know, to lazy to find out when it actually was). Stamina, Health, Hasten and Super Speed. You will be getting all of these powers, but only Hasten before 14, because the third tier power NEEDS a one power of a set before it taken, and the 4 tier power NEEDS two powers elsewhere in the power set taken. “A power wasted“, you might think,” on Swift or Hurdle”. Not so at all, Stone Brutes NEED Swift to be very effective past level 32, and all characters can benefit from enhanced jump height with Hurdle, especially when you take Super Speed. (did I just write all that?) Anyway, for this level you take either Hurdle, Swift, or Hasten, I chose Hasten. Fit with three Recharges
Lvl 7: One on Warmth and one on Hasten
Lvl 8: Take hurdle, I know that all those attack power look VERY promising, but not now, mark my words, you WILL have them later. Have 3 Jumps on it
Lvl 9: Put one slot one Hasten and one slot on Fire Shield
Lvl 10: Plasma Shield, Damage resist to energy, neg. energy, and some more fire. Same as Fire Shield for slotting
Lvl 11: Both slots on Hurdle
Lvl 12: I know that it hurts to not do damage like your fellow Corruptors, but who among them can heal or buff like you can? You now also begin the Leadership Power Pool, for they are more potent with the Corruptor AT than any other, None of this silly defense, even with Defenders you will never get it higher than 6%, assault is your thing. No slots were spared in this guide, use the initial for End Reduction
Lvl 13: One on each of your Shields
Lvl 14: Now its time to roll in speed with Super Speed. Again no slots, use the initial for a Run Speed
Lvl 15: Put one slot on Plasma Shield, and one on Assault
Lvl 16: Power of the Phoenix, it is time to have a rez ready. 3 Recharges, and one Health and one End Mod
Lvl 17: Both ones to “Power of the Phoenix”
Lvl 18: Health, while probably not needed, you are allowed Stamina for your next power, and you will like Stamina. Use the initial slot for the only thing it can do
Lvl 19: Both on Power of the Phoenix.
Lvl 20: Stamina, no doubt. Slot with Endurance Mods
Lvl 21: Both on Stamina
Lvl 22: Thaw, don’t bother with slots on this one, just use the base slot to add one Recharge in.
Lvl 23: Both on Cauterize
Lvl 24: Tactics, A much appreciated Accuracy boost, especially with slots. 3 To Hit Buffs.
Lvl 25: Both on Tactics
Lvl 26: We now begin our ATTACKS. Proton Volley, your snipe. 3 Damages, 3 Acc
Lvl 27 One on Cauterize, and one on Proton Volley
Lvl 28: Forge, with the base slot, you can make it permanent. Eventually, have 3 Accuracy buffs, and 3 Recharges
Lvl 29: On Proton Volley
Lvl 30: Cosmic Burst: a high damage attack, perfect. 3 Damage, and three Acc, use Hasten for its recharge
Lvl 32: Atomic Blast, your NUKE, nothing else needs being said
Lvl 33: Slot them all on Atomic Blast.
Lvl 34 Finish slotting Atomic Blast and put the last one into Cosmic Burst.
Lvl 35 is where I end, but my last recommendations are to 6 slots Forge, and 6 slot Cosmic Burst. I hope you found this guide helpful.
