Two Fisted healing
This is an approach I have used this method in both COH and COV and it has worked well for me. The idea is to play a healing type heal and attack quickly without the mouse.
There are three principles. The first is to arrange your attacks. Next healing related binds go on numpad. Finally other commonly used powers are arranged. This method allows you to quickly target and heal allies and target and defeat enemies.
Attacks
Place your most common attacks in slots 2-5 and less used going outward, travel powers and such go in second tray. This allows you to use your most common attacks while keeping your fingers near the movement keys. An additional targeting bind is made to allow you to hit enemies that aggro to you.
bind add "target_enemy_near"
This allows you to quickly target and attack the nearest foe. This is useful in any attack but especially when an enemy gets too close. Works really well for attacks with a secondary such as knockback, hold and stun attacks. Use this when an enemy gets too close to quickly target them.
Allies
Bind teammates to the numpad keys:
Bind numpad1 "team_select 1"
Bind numpad2 "team_select 2"
And so forth this selects teammates quickly. Simply hit the number of teammate (found on team display on left side of display above chat window) and they are targeted for heal or buff.
Heals and Buffs
Bind heals and related powers to the surrounding numpad keys:
Bind numpad0 "powexec_name warmth"
Bind numpad9 "powexec_name cauterize"
bind multiply "powexec_name forge "
bind divide "powexec_name thaw”
This allows you to heal/buff the allies you targeted with your numpad numbers (above).
Additional Binds
You may wish to bind more powers to keys around the movement keys, there are too many possibilities so I will not address these.
Using Your New Binds
Once you have completed these binds (and any you wish to add) you are ready to play. Use your left hand on the movement keys to get around and the number keys above to attack and tab key for targeting without taking your hand off movement keys. With your right hand use your number keys on the pad to target allies, use the + key to target nearby foes and other surrounding keys to heal and buff.
Note: The numpad keys are also nice when an ally is making the Alpha attack, you can target through him and be ready to heal him at a moment’s notice.
