It wouldnt let me go down the broken lift but it did show the platform sitting at the bottom.

I remember this mission too. Anyone ever see An Evening with Kevin Smith II: Evening Harder? The guy dressed up as the Buddy Christ asked Kevin to give his critique of the recent movies at the time. Some guy yelled out "I, Robot" and Kevin pretty much summed it up nicely. It also describes this mission quite well. Heh heh...
