| Are Dominators our version of Blappers? |

I love blapping, Yes I admit it. Being able to shot and hit. Not knowing the frase “Stay back while we (scrappers and tankers) go in”. Just massive dmg in so many ways. Sure, they’re squishy, but if an enemy actually is able to get a hit, I SHOULD die.
That being said, I have yet to make a build I am happy with in CoV. I have tried Scrappers, Corruptors, and have several active MM. None are as much fun as my Blappers.
That’s till I started looking over the dominators.
You have control poweres as primaries and the secontary is the tipical range + melee I would have on a blapper. Maybe this is the answer to my CoV toon question.
What combo is the better build?

I guess you could say they are.. I haven't really looked at them that way before. With the lower damage out put it makes it a little hard to concider them to be but it's all in the way you play.
I have a Gravity/Energy Dominator and I enjoy the combination quiet well. Of course it could be the fact that I can hold an enemy and then use Propel to hit them with a car...thats kind of sinister. I like it! So far the combo has worked well for me.
Who else has a Dominator around here? What kind of build do you have and why do you enjoy it?

I have 2 doms that I regularly play, a Grav/energy and a Ice/thorn. Energy and Thorn assault are both blapper type sets, and I generally play, Lock Down, then Assault with melee attacks. I guess they can be called blappers, but as said before, they're base damage is kind of low to be really compared to a blaster's output.

the dmg will be a lot better with domination up though. and the pets will help to fill in the damage gaps as well. with a fire/psi you could really get that blapper feeling, as the hot feet toggle is on a fire blaster, and the psi secondary will boost your regen, making you live in melee longer. the fire/ aslo gives the best primary dmg.
*edit* fiery embrace would help too from /fire

I have a fire/fire dominator. She is not really blapper, maybe more a conster. She has a few melee attacks, but it is more controller-ish crowd control with damage over time combined with long to short ranged attacks. The real scrapper part is a bit limited, but the damage output is not. It plays different from a blapper, but I am right in the middle of the fun, so it that sense it is close to a blapper. My biggest worry with my dom is that I always seem to be doing too much damage and therefore getting a lot of aggro. But I think that is exactly what you are looking for.

Doms are not really blappers , corruptors are more likely to be blappers- i have a few doms on different servers and use em like a controller hold em down and use dom when up for damage
