PVP stalker build

I'd like some help, maybe some advice. some changes.

1 – Lunge, Hide
2 – Focused Fighting
3 – Focused Fighting (2 end reduce 1 defense)
4 – Focused Senses
5 – Focused Senses (2 end reduce 1 defense)
6 – Assassin’s Impaler
7 – Assassin’s Impaler (2 Damage 1 ACC)
8 – Build up
9 – Assassin’s Impaler (1 Damage 1 ACC)
10 – Combat Jumping
11 – 1 Assassin’s Impaler – 1 Build up (Damage & recharge rate)
12 – Placate
13 – Focused Senses and Focused Fighting (Defensive)
14 – Superjump
15 – Build up (recharge rate)
16 – Hurdle
17 – Superjump (3 Jumps)
18 – Impale
19 – Impale (2 damage 1 ACC)
20 – Health
21 – Impale (1 Damage 1 Imm)
22 – Stamina
23 – Stamina and Impale (More end, 1 Imm)
24 – Practiced Brawler
25 – Practiced Brawler or PB & Stamina (2 recharge or 1 recharge 1 more end)
26 – Ripper
27 – Ripper (2 Damage 1 ACC)
28 – Quickness
29 – Ripper (1 Damage 1 Recharge)
30 – Stealth

This is for a stalker made for PVP for siren's call. i put Practiced brawler late in the build so i wouldn't be tempted to go to siren's call to early.

Basic Plan, go up to a Hero, anyone but a tank and maybe a regen scrapper. Build up, AS, placate, Impale while they try to run. and if that doesn't work...umm.. run or lunge. matters if they are at 1 helath or at like 500 at that time.

Or do u think another secondary is better in PVP? that is not ninja.

RE: PVP stalker build

Ninja is the best PvP secondary, with Regen coming in close Behind. Energy and SR both do well, depending on how they're built, with Dark Armor falling to the rear.

Spines is the second best PvP stalker primary. EM is best, and Claws is most likely in third place, having a somewhat weaker, but still effective Ranged attack available in Siren's.

RE: PVP stalker build

Spines is the most versitile PvP set, specially when it comes to dealing with annoying people with Repel (stormers) and "hover-bot" blasters although i disagree that SR is worse then regen and is indeed tied with Ninjutsu in 1st place for best pvp stalker secondaries, regen following in 2nd and with EA and Dark Armor competing for 3rd

Also i would suggest and almost completely INSIST that you 6 slot impale for damage and accuracy, it is THE reason spines is decent in pvp, the immoble isnt work slotting for becuase most players have combat jumping for imobble resist

RE: PVP stalker build

In the world of PvP, self heals are the key to survival. For stalkers, having defense is also vital. /Nin takes the lead as it has pretty damn good defense combined with a damn good heal. Regen takes second place because it not only has a damn good heal in Reconstruction, it also has Dull Pain to boost HP and heal back damage, as well as Instant Healing as a god mode power available in Siren's Call.

SR comes in third, having better defense values than /Nin and its scaling resistances is very valueable when trying to get away from an attacker, but it lacks a built in Heal. For it to do as well as /Nin, you'd have to invest two power slots into the Medicine pool to pick up Aid Self. Most stalker PvP builds are already tight enough without having to pick up yet another pool and waste a power slot on a power you'll likely never use in a PvP scenario. Energy Aura falls behind SR because it has weaker defense values and, again, no self heal. Dark is last in line, because while it does have a heal, its heal is harder to pull off, harder to get a strong enough value from, and most importantly, it's a resistance based set, which makes it really hard to get back into Hidden mode when an opponent is following you around, trying to kill you.

EM takes first place because it has the highest burst damage, and its Assassin ability is pure energy damage, which is much less resisted than the more common Lethal damage from other sets. Spines gets second place because it has good burst damage and a pretty damaging set of Ranged attacks. Claws gets third, because it has less burst damage but still has two ranged attacks, good for following up an Assassin attack for the kill.

DM is in fourth, simply because its Assassin attack is pure Negative energy damage. If it had a ranged attack, DM would be king. MA, NB, and DB all fall to the end of the line, because all of their damage is highly resisted and they don't have any ranged attacks.

W.P.

RE: PVP stalker build

omg thank you sooo much! I have made sooooo many characters to find out i picked the wrong sets for PVP.(that's why im obcessed and must get it right this time!!!) I like spine mostly because of the ranged impale. Like...if i hit them with AS and they start to run, placate and Impale or just impale. AND i have ripper incase. OR jump near a flying guy, impale, and hes stuck, placate, AS. it's a great set. Anyway is spine AS like toxic..so is it not usually resisted? And I'll go with ninja, for the heal... even though it's will be hard to fit in all the powers... And here is what im thinking now...

1- Lunge, Hide
2- Ninja Reflexes
3- 2 slots for Ninja Reflexes (2 end reduct 1 defence or vice-versa)
4- Danger Sense
5- 2 slots for Danger sense (Same as Ninja Reflexes)
6- Assassin's impaler
7- 2 Slots for Assassin’s Impaler (2 damage 1 ACC)
8- Build up
9- 2 Slots for Assassin’s Impaler (1 Damage and no idea)
10- combat jumping (won't use in PVP though)
11- 1 slot Assassin’s Impaler (no idea), 1 slot Build up (reduce recharge rate)
12- Placate
13- 2 slots in Placate (3 recharge or whatever else it can have)
14- Super jump
15- 2 slots in Superjump (jump, so I can run away fast =D)
16- Hurdle
15- No idea
18- Impale
19- 2 slots impale (2 Damage 1 ACC)
20- Health
21- 2 slots impale (1 Damage and…2 ACC? Or 1 ACC and one recharge)
22- Stamina
23- 2 slots stamina (those end recovery things)
24- Kuji-Rin (Is like practiced brawler)
25- 2 slots in that things right above (3 recharge, or 2 if that makes it perma and something else)
26- Ripper
27- 2 slots in Ripper (2 Damage 1 ACC)
28- Kuji-in Sha (the heal)
29- 2 slots in that thing above (3 extra health thingys)
30- Stealth
31- 2 slots in stealth (end reduct or 2 in Ripper? 1 damage 2 ACC) or something…

Anything i miss that i need...or something in there i dont?

Now this is my PVP, im think maybe my Build will be different for PVE and then when im 31, respec and get this. Or should i just use this? And i think that is all..oh and can someone please fill in the (no idea) or the pick if it has a question mark. It's asking alot...but atleast i will not kill you in PVP :P

RE: PVP stalker build

Your strategies will work. My advice, however, is to take the build to 50. You want all the slots to get the most out of your powers, not to mention get the best set bonuses.

For your attacks, 2 Acc and 3 Dam are the general consensus for PvP. If you have the slots available, 3 Acc is better, in case you fight someone with defense based protection.

Spine's AS power is pure lethal damage. It is the only Spines power that doesn't have a toxic secondary effect. This is to make sure that the One-Shot code works. You can't one shot an opponent, ever. If you had a secondary damage type added into the attack, it's considered by the game to be two attacks, and would bypass the one shot code. All Assassin attacks have a single damage type to them, with no secondary effects.

RE: PVP stalker build

lol i would go to level 50..but :P i have been playing for like 3 years now. i started in i1 or i2. and my highest is only a lvl 31 spine/regen..lol. i mean i also have a 32 illusion/kinetics and a 33 energy/ele. and a 28 fire/devices and a 28 invul/energy tank... i mean havn't been wasting time but i can never choose one person...i'll be lucky if i can get to 31 with this guy.. and the spines isn't my highest, but hes the best and could take the others in a fight! :P And the 3 damage 2 ACC, sweet. maybe a recharge or an end reduct. if i always lose endurance. ANyway this is going to be great. i wanted the best stalker ever! because they were the only ones that can could my spines/regen down :P (and by the way, the only reason i couldn't get a 50 is because as soon as they get into siren's..they never come out for anything..ever...) And as long as i get to them one health lol. impale could do the rest :P

hmmm...anymore questions....oh yea! stick with this build or do a different build to level up faster and then respec at level 31??

RE: PVP stalker build

I worked up a build to level 31 for ya. Only IO you really need is Unbounded Leap +stealth IO for Combat Jumping. You should have CJ on more often than SJ, so having the stealth in there is more valuable. This build is probably best left to respec into, as it picks up Stamina rather late. You won't have Stamina in BB, but you shouldn't need it there, as it'll be pretty much AS+Impale for all of your targets, lol.

Here's the build:

RE: PVP stalker build

Fun fact: All of the critical portion of a stalkers assassin strike is 100% unresistable. And, if you have a damage PROC or two slotted in your AS, you can bypass the one shot rule if either one or both go off (for low HP ATs anyways).

RE: PVP stalker build

I'ld like to say that SR is good for stalkers when combined with Aid Self and also a little tip for you, since stalkers dont have any kind of mezes is to pick up the "pounding slugfest: chance for disorient" and slot it in your AS and your Lunge, i have one in brawl aswell but thats mostly for fun, but i have had the pleasure with the IOs to mez a scrapper before so :), Also if possible slot +damage buff in IO set bonus's. and yes it is fun to slot damage procs in your AS and 1 hit squishies and watch half of them go "Wtf popper" :) Also, for as much as it'll do you i'll go ahead and post my spine/regen build
(keep in mind this is a pure pvp build, which is why i choose teleport as a travel power, and also the tactics when combined with the ToHit IO's[especiallythe chance for build up one] is extrmely useful)

what do u mean by i will use combat jumping alot? I was planning to keep SJ...almost all the time :P so i could run away fast. and never die...or if there is only one person, combat jumping so i wont get hit by their spines or blazing fire or ice patch or whatever?

And how can someone bypass the one hit kill thingy??

And thanks for the Build! im downloading the program, just to see how kool it is. And after this...u pretty much gave me a build, advice and all the enh i have to make, lol. u pretty much covered everything ever! i cant thank you enough!

RE: PVP stalker build

RE: PVP stalker build

You'll want CJ up all the time becuase the + def is never useless and to bypass the one hit rule, you slot damage procs (mako's bite chance for lethal, Touch of death chance for negative, and hecatomb[if u get to 50]) as they are considered seperate attacks.

This is what a general build for an EM/NiN should look like, if you want to go in deep with IOs for the EM/NiN i would go for +damage, otherwise ET is basically a stun, with bonesmasher as a followup until you get gloom then use gloom as a follow up, if you want an IO build, simply ask and i can post the one i am most likely going to be using very soon

RE: PVP stalker build

Well, there are typically 3 ways, all require you to have a Heavy, the robots you can get by clicking the glowies infront of their station, one is if your good at pet commands or are using the advanced pet options is to order your pet to GoTo and Stay in aggressive mode at the Gate between Atlas and the hero base, its a chokepoint where all the longbow running mobs run through, your heavy will kill them, or using simply the attack my target you can kill the big longbow mobs on the bridge and around, or the turrets on the pill boxes, or you can use the GoTo Aggressive command and put it in the middle of a Longbow Mob so that the heavy uses its EMP Pulse, killing all of the surrounding longbow, easiest way
