Introducing: The Priory

I've been entertaining the idea of a VG based on crazed religious zealotry. An idea that is now reality. [cheese-fest!]

Anywho.

The Priory is set to be a very very casual roleplaying VG. I don't really expect people to go into huge amounts of depths, its all for fun really.

The concept is as I said above, based on an idea about zealots. If you've ever played WoW, think of the Scarlet Crusade. If you've seen Carry, think of Carry's mum and her mum's affection for stabbing witches. If you've ever seen Top Gear think of Richard Hammond being shot at through the Bible Belt.

My character in the VG, who happens to be the founder, is a mental patient who, when his mutations appeared with the aid of some invasive treatment, thought his new found powers were a gift from God. A normal assuption. But unfortunately for us, he wasn't the sanest of people so decided God wanted him to use them a more of an Apocolyptic way then a Christian one.

Though any RPing in the SG would be casual, a similarly appropriate background would be nice. You needed go out of your way to make a new character. If you have bio-less character it could always be adapted. As I said, its casual so no one will mind. All I ask is the background is one cossy slot given to some nice humble robes.

Reply if you want an invite or have any questions.

PS, if you want to get all PC on me, feel free. Its all a bit of fun and I'm sorry if I cause any offence by using a religious theme, but I hardly think any religion used in CoV could possibly be a real representation of the religion. Anyone who thinks otherwise might be a PC zealot themselves.

RE: Introducing: The Priory

An interesting idea, although a delicate subject for some...

Me, I don't mind at all... and I do love the idea of a themed VG and it is the first one I come across.

It gives me a lot of ideas and the roleplaying is somewhat pretty easy (to me, any religious zealot is a villain by definition, since he/she go out of his way to take away your freedom to act, to speak and even to think).

I am not very active at the moment and struck with an acute case of Altoholism... but I surely have a character somewhere that could fit in, or easily make one, at least to give your group a prestige boost and some involvment at least from time to time if not regularly.

A few questions:

On wich server is the VG?

Are there any restrictions or requirements in terms of powers, origin, appearance etc?

In the meantime... Have Faith or Die!

I can't think of any reasons for restrictions on powers or origins. Even if you can't make a combo or origin fit in with the VG in your biography, your villain could always be a convert.

I would like any characters to have at least one VG costume slot. I was thinking simple monk like robes. As there are no suitable robe costume slots in game I made to with the baggy options with some plain boots. My character has a hood, but I haven't decided as to whether this is a feature the whole VG should take up. Either way as long as the robes stay humble, there is a lot of room for customisation. For example, have zombie hands, a robot helmet, skull shoulders, whatever. I think I'll let members use their own judgement on this matter.
