| Coloring text in mission submissions |

The HTML code for color [ Color=red ] works on the forums, but apparently it doesnt work on mission pages. What is the correct coding to color text when submitting new missions?

I figured it out finally. Good ol' view page source showed me its < font color="red" > instead of [ color=red ] for mission submissions.

Yeah, some of the coding on some of the pages is html rather than the bb code that we use in the forums. Not sure which ones are which off the top of my head, but I've been learning more programing than I ever wanted to because of it.

Well at 4 am, I must admit I'm not 100% on my game.
I know that you can use the BB code with screenshots, guides, articles, and tips. But not with missions. I think the "Powers that Be" did that because they didn't think anyone would be needing any kind of coding in the missions section. Those submissions are usually pretty straight forward and don't need a lot of fancy text to take away from the info.

True, but I have seen some posts like this one with tan/beige colored text that matches the in-game mission prompts and wanted to do the same.

Well that color is color="#c8c896". So if you want to use that one, that's the color they used.

Well that color is color="#c8c896". So if you want to use that one, that's the color they used. |
Scar, here's a quick primer on how colors work.
HTML (and a lot of "paint" programs) use a hex color codes, where the values can range from 00 (lack of the particular color) to FF (brightest form of the particular color). The Hex number system has the digits, in order, of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F. (Just like decimil, which your used to, that uses 0-9)
The way the colors work is this: The first two digits represent Red. The second two digits represent Green. The third two digits reprent Blue. So, color #FF0000 would be bright red. Color #FF00FF would be bright Purple. Color #00FF00 would be bright green.
Get it?

Scrolling back through old posts, I just saw this explanation. I never new the hex code referred to red, green, blue that way. You did an excellent job explaining it Ron, thanks!
