'The Last Stop' By Anachron 10-19-2006
The cold black mist surrounds the group of teenagers as they stand around waiting for the bus.
Suddenly a scream is heard... one of the teens is missing...
"What happend to Barry?"
"No Idea. He was right here a moment ago..."
"Oh Gawd!, when is this bus going to arrive?!?"
"Relax Sue, it will be here shortly." Then as I turned to check the Bus schedule, I noticed it was blank...
"That's odd" I said quietly, at that moment a muffled gurgle was heard...
"Oh no! Sue is gone! Did anyone see what happened?"
"No, she was there and now she's not!"
"Looks like it's down to you me and James... James? Oh man! Now he's gone too!"
"Oh great, now it's just us. When is that stupid bus going to arrive?"
Then much to our relief, the bus became visible in the dark mist. Within moments it was at our stop, while boarding we noticed the few people already seated, looking both miserable and frightened...
I turned to the bus driver, "What's wrong with these people?"
"You do not know? Oh wait I understand, you've just arrived... Well, this is the Bus to the afterlife, you're dead..."
I was of course shocked by this revelation and turned to my friend, "Hey did you hear that? We're dead..."
He just looked at me with confusion and fear, then asked "what happened to Barry Sue and James?"
"Yeah..." I added.
"They were revived and thusly did not need to ride the bus at this time..."
"If that's the case then why we're they so scared?"
"Once you understand the nature of your situation then realize you must return to the world of the living, that knowledge can be very traumatic."

Suddenly the PA sparked to life "Next stop- The River Styx! Please have your coins ready for passage... If you have none, please see me before you disembark and a pass will be issued..."
