It's time to meet another one of my most respected characters; Psyshock.
As the son of a Greek millionaire, Apollo Angelos, a born mutant entering the cruel world for the first time had witnessed more power struggles than Europe before he was even old enough to talk. That didn't compare to his apparent outer anatomy however, being born with the same purple tint of skin he has to this date. That was what bought the general negative attention amongst the common man. The first precious and innocent years of his life began sour, His mother dying when he was 2, his father barely even knew the colour of his eyes, his favourite food, his first word. In a long run, the business had a greater importance than the seemingly unwanted son. When his father had finally seized a day or two outside of the harsh yet fulfilling business world in which he loved so much, he decided that what Apollo was, was a problem and too much to bare. Lucky for him however, the money littering his bank accounts and pockets had power. His father, a well known millionaire named Milos Angelos, hired a man by the name of Danver Anderson, a supposed traveling specialist of the paranormal. This was only because since the day he was born, Apollo always had frequent headaches that had no link to any known ailment what so ever. His resume claimed that Anderson had worked with many of today's fine heroes; utilizing their abilities and turning them into someone useful and beneficial towards society. It seemed promising, but then again, Milos never had the greatest intuition. After several years of referred therapy, it seemed as though a certain gift had emerged through his early teenage years, the headaches had gotten worse before getting better. During a daily routine, the young Apollo caught the voice inside Anderson's head while he was having lunch, his mind scanning over his thoughts, the very thoughts that signaled who this man really was. At first, Apollo didn't understand what he was doing, but as he continued, his control over this particular ability started to strengthen. His position was too vague to even stop what was about to happen, what Anderson was truely planning to do with Apollo, believing that no one would believe him. As soon as Anderson discovered Apollo's immense telepathic abilities for himself, it was only natural for him to use them to his own advantage. After all, he was counting on it. For the best interests of Anderson and Milos, Apollo was sent to a directed institute for those with psychic-related abilities specifically, nestled between the American and Canadian border. The institute was no school, it was more of an underground testing facility, and all of it's scientists and staff were all working towards a common goal; the creation of the greatest and possibly the most sinister army known to man. Rather than physical destruction and sabotage, the institute posed a different way to take down specific targets; through sheer will of the mind. All of the subjects were exposed to painful and countless days of training in order to become strong enough to fulfill the operations, and Apollo was no exception. Although he was recruited as the common psychic, his star started to slowly shine brighter than anyone else's. Not only did his telepathic abilities grow stronger than anyone elses throughout the entire facility, but the unexpected development of his telekinetic/psychokinetic abilities had manifested quite rapidly aswell. Apollo was immediately pulled up the rankings of power, his skill and raw psionic energy surpassing even the most advanced of psychics.
The bald, purple-skinned Greek partook in countless assassinations up until his early adult life, all of which were a 100% successful. By concentrating onto the target hard enough, his incredible psionic power was enough to toy with their minds and bodies from vast distances of many thousand miles away. Stripping a man from his will and memories seemed deliciously divine, and every target he stole their psyche from increased his own mental strength. He was slowly starting to embrace the power in which was within his grasp. This had been going on for years through his adolescence, each passing day his abilities and hunger for power, death and destruction grew sturdy, he didn't know any better. After a lengthy investigation by the Paragon City special forces of the circumstances surrounding the hidden institute, Sister Psyche, a well known and respected member of Freedom Phalanx, was finally able to catch the psionic entrail of the powerful, mental aura Apollo was releasing. Her interpretations intercepted with Apollo's, like a trail of bread crumbs through a dark forest. With the help of a few other heroes, the Institute was hindered after a tough and lenghly fight, and all it's occupants were placed within the hands of the Longbow. What they had failed to realize was that Apollo's psychic abilities continued to grow on a passive level. Being thrown into a high security-level lockdown at the Zig had no halting effect on his ability to influence the outside world. This influence over weak-minded individuals was obvious when a vast number of puposely targeted Longbow started to act peculiar, his mental grasp clenching onto the very minds that tossed judgment towards his direction. At times the psychic output was overwhelming, however the more he used his abilities with a passion, the more control his mind and soul granted him. During the day of the unexpected breakout fronted my the Arachnos, Apollo's extrasensory had somehow foretold the occurring event. Upon his escape along with many other numbers of criminals, Apollo took refuge within the Rogue Isles, needing only the psyche of others to fulfill his hunger. His abilities continue to grow stronger and stronger everyday, and there's no telling on what the limits of his mind actually are. While moving up the ranks of the Arachnos, Psyshock plans to deliver a little surprise towards the heroes, personally.
