My name is Sirayn. I am the youngest of 2. Rainah is my older sister. Our parents were murdered in front of us many years ago. Horrified at what was taking place before my eyes Rainah told me to run and protect myself. We didn't know much about our parents until after the deaths. They always told us we were special. We just had no idea in what way. We learned that our family has a very long line of highly respected members of society and magic. After our parents deaths we were sent to live with a "friend of the family". I knew nothing about the man except that he took in a lot kids without homes. During our stay we became part of the student body at a school he ran. There we learned how unique and special we were.
Rainah always seemed to prevail at a faster pace than I did, but she never rubbed it in. I knew with time I could be stronger and more powerful. It seemed like forever, but after 4 years we returned to Paragon City. Shortly after our return Rainah voulenteered to help protect Sirens Call. I was to young still and could not go with her. It was difficult for me to think that I could lose her and then be alone. Thankfully she returned, but she did not come back alone. She brought a friend, a guy friend, that had been injured. She told me about how she was placed on the Empathy Team and how she and Vasher became friends while nursing him back to health. The three of us were inseparatable. We did everything together. I caught myself staring at him one day and I realized I had a crush on him. The more we were together the more I grew to love him. Rainah cared for him, but not as much as I did. Things slow went back to normal. Rainah and I returned the school for some advanced training. All I could think about was Vasher, Rainah on the other hand found a new love. I was excited. This meant I could tell Vasher how I really felt about him without hurting Rainah.
The night we returned Rainah and her new love,Phase, went for a walk in the park. As I laid awake waiting for Rainah to come home my mind started to wonder off into the "what might be". Rainah came in the house yelling my name. She was home and she was early, I knew something must have happened. I hurried downstairs to see what was the matter. She told me that Vasher had followed her into the park and attacked Phase. After she had separated them Vasher confessed his love for her. Rainah broke his heart when she told him she loved Phase, and did not love Vasher in that way. I knew I had to find Vasher. I had to tell him how I felt and that I can be the one he needs. I ran out of the house into the storm calling for him. Rainah ran out after me. I could hear her yelling that what she told Vasher had changed him. He was not the same person we knew. As I ran down the street I grew deaf to her plea. The words she told Vasher changed him, she said he was dark and cold inside. I could save him I told myself.
I just have to find him.....
