Let me tell you a story about me and my older brother. Now we each turned out a little different. I was the smart one, but he ended up more "spiritual"; more in tune with the world. Although we had our differences, we had one thing in common: our natural born ability to fight and our lust for power. In the end I look back and think it worked out well.
I played the stock market and made a fortune. My brother was impressed. So was I, hoping are parents are proud as well where they rest... But I’m getting off topic, aren’t I?
Anyways, I used my newfound wealth to buy what we wanted the most: power. I hired professionals from the Council, Crey Industries, the Sky Raiders, even the Circle of Thorns. So we sent our flunkies to work, making us powerful. The two teams we set up developed 2 methods: one involving pure light spells in a combination with kinetic engineering, while the other was absolute darkness with black magic and other forms of dark energy. Like Yin and Yang…good and evil. My brother was fascinated with the thought of possessing the power of true darkness itself, while I preferred to maintain a pure light state. So we chose our methods and were willingly experimented on. Each of the processes turned out to be a success.
After that we began to train, well if you can call it a beginning. We spent about a week learning about forms of self defense, martial arts, and weapon masteries. We both picked up on all of it quickly; in a way we were competing with each other. If you can believe it, we were masters of all that stuff by the end of the week. I can’t explain how, must be something to do with out natural born fighting skills. Of course, all this good fortune we had with our training didn’t go so well the next week. We were going to be taught about our powers and how to use them. The whole idea was still fresh in our minds, so we needed the help.
Longbow didn’t have the same idea as us though. They busted in, raiding it on a tip that illegal stuff was going down. The gunfire was immense. We all ran. Me and my brother looked back, seeing all the people we hired down on the ground in cuffs. We kept running... I fell. My brother looked back, paused... for what seemed an eternity. He had a grin on his face, the kind that sent a shiver down my spine. Then he kept going down the hall. It was there I realized something: that he wasn’t looking out for me, that he was a self-centered person who was only using me for what I had. He never considered me his brother otherwise he would have helped me.
As if on cue there was a gigantic explosion right about where my brother was. I waited and waited until the Longbow came and cuffed me. Everyone was sent to the Ziggurat in Brickstown. I spent about the equivalent of 3 months in solitary confinement in the prison. Then Arachnos came. They busted a hole through in the prison. A lot of people got out, by the droves they practically poured from the Zig. I was one of the lucky few who got out first. The first thing I did was head for the weapons locker, basically a place to keep weapons confiscated from convicts. I sorted through all the pistols, assault rifles, shuriken, and medieval swords before I finally found it: my baby. A katana made of high grade metals, light enough to move at incredible speeds and strong enough to slice through flesh like butter. I grabbed my little implement of destruction and headed outside.
There was an Arachnos flyer waiting outside. So I jumped on as we made our way to the Rouge Isles. Looking down at all the destruction and carnage happening on the ground, one thing came to my mind...
Nice view.
